A 14 year old from Manhattan has been arrested on multiple battery charges, and criminal damage to property.
At around 6:00 pm on Thursday night Riley county police were called to the 1100 block of Crossgate Terrace on a report of battery and criminal damage to property. According to police reports upon arrival at the scene the police officers made contact with the youth, Jonathan Dickson, and at that point Officer Joshua Opat was allegedly assaulted by the suspect.
The suspect’s 39 year old mother was also allegedly battered, and damage was done to some clay pottery deocrations and a door. Dickson was arrested for 2 counts of battery and criminal damage to property.
He is being held at the Geary county juvenile detention facility.
