    8-year-old Topeka girl found dead, man arrested

    TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) A man is jailed in Topeka after an 8-year-old girl was found dead.

    The girl, Ahliyah Irvin, was reported missing about 5 a.m. Tuesday and police announced about 9:45 a.m. that she had been found dead.

    Police did not immediately say how the girl died or where her body was found.

    A 28-year-old man was taken into custody later Tuesday. Police did not say how he was connected to Ahliyah.
