A bizarre early morning break-in led to a Manhattan man under psychiatric care early Tuesday.
According to Riley County police Lt. Josh Kyle, RCPD received a call just after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday regarding an attempted break-in. Officers responded to the source of the call, but later discovered the suspect coated in blood screaming out suicidal comments near the intersection of University and Claflin. The 21-year old man was eventually tasered and taken into police custody.
The man was looking at aggravated burglary, criminal damage to property, and DUI charges, but police have since turned the subject over to Mercy Regional Health Center for a mental evaluation.
