On Saturday, March 10, 2012, the Riley County Republican party hosted their Presidential Caucus at Anthony Middle school.

The doors opened at 8:30 a.m. to allow people to register and then at 10, representatives of the candidates were allowed ten minutes to speak explaining the points their candidates were proposing during their campaign.

In the stands, people had buttons, shirts, caps and signs to promote the candidate of their choice.

After all speeches were done, the ballets were distributed and those in attendance were able to place their choice into the final count.

The doors closed at 1:00 p.m and a final tally was made.

The estimate number of people who showed up, according to Barbara Van Slyke, Riley County Republican Chairwoman, was somewhere around 550 to 600 people.

The results of the Riley County caucus and the state wide caucus can be found on the Riley County Republicans facebook page.
