All but set to claim its first Big 12 series victory, K-State saw Oklahoma put up two runs in the bottom of the 9th for a 4-3 victory at L. Dale Mitchell Park in Norman on Sunday. In a tie game in the top of the 7th, Jon Davis and Jake Brown ripped back-to-back doubles to give the Cats a 3-2 lead. With freshman Nate Williams on the mound in the 9th looking for his fourth save, Cody Reine blasted an RBI triple to knot the game at 3, and Evan Mistich followed with an RBI single to pull it out for the Sooners. The OU rally spoiled a great outing by K-State senior Kayvon Bahramzadeh, who gave up just 2 runs on 2 hits, with just one walk and 11 strikeouts in six innings of work.
The Cats drop to 14-13 overall with the loss, and 3-6 in the Big 12. The Sooners are now 18-11 and 4-5 in the league. K-State will host Nebraska on Tuesday night for the final game of a non-conference series. First pitch at Tointon Family Stadium is at 6:30pm, with pregame at 6:00 on KMAN.
