CLEVELAND (AP) The Kansas City Royals have optioned right-hander Jeremy Jeffress to Triple-A Omaha and recalled left-hander Tommy Hottovy. Hottovy, 30, was 1-0 with one save and a 2.70 ERA in seven games for Omaha, striking out 17 in 10 innings. He gives manager Ned Yost another lefty available for the final two games of the series in Cleveland against the Indians, who have a predominantly left-handed lineup. Kansas City signed Hottovy as a minor-league free agent in November. He made his major-league debut with Boston a year ago, compiling a 6.75 ERA in eight relief outings without a won-loss record. Jeffress failed to retire a batter Tuesday night in Cleveland, facing two hitters and allowing a single and walk in relief. He had been recalled Saturday from Omaha, where he was 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA.
