Authorities in Geary County are investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place early Sunday morning.
At about 2 a.m. Geary County Sheriff’s Department deputies were assisting officers from the Junction City Police Department with monitoring the parking lot at Club Eve located at 713 South Washington Street in Junction City at closing time. A disturbance then broke out and one subject fled behind the building and produced a firearm. The subject was shot one time and collapsed. The unidentified subject was trasnsported to Geary Community Hospital by Junction City EMS and later airlifted by Life Star to to Stormont Vail in Topeka with very serious injuries.
The incident is being investigated by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
