K-State battled back to within one run after Wichita State jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but the Shockers scored six unanswered runs for a 10-3 win over the Cats on Tuesday night at Eck Stadium.  Jared King led K-State with three hits to go with an RBI and a run scored.  Wichita State had too much firepower though led by Johnny Coy with a 5 for 5 night with three RBI’s and three runs scored.  Jared Moore (2-4) took the loss for K-State, giving two earned runs over 2 2/3 innings of work.  Gerardo Esquivel, Robert Youngdahl, and Caleb Wallingford all had scoreless stints out of the bullpen for the Cats.  Hayden grad T.J. McGreevy (2-2) picked up the win in relief for Wichita, giving up just two hits and no runs over three innings of work.

K-State drops to 19-27 on the season, with a three game non-conference series this weekend against Nebraska-Omaha.  First pitch on Friday night will be at 6:30pm, and the BD4 Distributing Pregame Show will begin at 6:00 on KMAN with Brian Smoller and Matt Walters.
