TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) A Kansas doctor stripped of her medical license is making no apologies.
State regulators today revoked the license of Dr. Ann Kristin Neuhaus over allegations that she performed inadequate mental health exams on young patients she referred for late-term abortions.
Neuhaus and other abortion-rights supporters describe the action by the State Board of Healing Arts part of ongoing efforts to limit access to abortion. Neuhaus says she will ask state courts to overturn the decision.
The board accepted the findings of an administrative judge, who concluded in February that Neuhaus “seriously jeopardized” the care of her patients. She provided second opinions Tiller needed to perform some late-term abortions at his Wichita clinic. He was slain in 2009 by a man professing strong anti-abortion views.
