    Police Blotter June 4th, 2012

    1.) Between midnight and 2 a.m. Saturday, Casey Dassel, 21,  reports someone forced entry into her home and stole various items from her residence. Stolen was miscellaneous jewelry, clothes, purses, shoes, $100 cash, two iPod touches, two MacBook Pros, and one Sony camera. The estimated loss is around $5000.

    2.) What was originally seen as just a theft from a local business has now turned into an aggravated burglary. As reported before on KMAN, the department store, Dillards, had reported to the Riley County Police department about the theft of 20 polo shirts estimated at $1400. The accused was caught by Dillards employees and told not to return to the store because of this incident but a slap on the hand was not enough to keep these suspects away. Between 2 p.m. between May 31st and Saturday, two female suspects stole an unknown amount of Miss Me Capri pants from the store estimating in a loss of $2000. The RCPD reports that the female suspects are also working with one driver.

    3.) A residential buglary is leaving one woman without her laptop. Around 5 p.m. on Saturday, Teresa Borys, 24,  had her Fujitsu laptop stolen from her unlocked residence at 512 Thurston. Estimated loss is $1800.

    4.)A string a vehicle burglaries have been reported in the Pebblebrook area between Saturday and Sunday. The first was  David Harris’, 20, 2007 Chevy Impala. Taken was stereo equipment and various Xbox games. The second car was owned by  Lalieta  Harris, 21, a 2009 Dodge Journey. Taken from her vehicle were two speakers. The last car was owned by Eric Thomas. His 2008 Toyota Prius had an iPhone taken from inside. The total estimated loss for all three incidents is around $1800.

    5.) An injury accident is putting new meaning on put the car into the garage. On Sunday, Tabatha Kurtenbach, 27, was driving westbound in her 2007 Honda Accord, in the 2300 block of Anderson Ave. Kurtenbach was talking on her cell phone when she failed to yield to the curb in the 2300 block of Wildwood Ln. Her car then went straight into a garage, through the garage and into the residence’s back yard. Kurtenbach was transported to Mercy Regional Health Center for minor injuries. The garage was deemed structurally unsound by the Manhattan Fire Department because of the accident.
