    Board Talks Budget

The budget discussion took up a lot of time at the Manhattan Ogden school board meeting.

The board was presented with two different options to think about before they actually make a decision on where to go with the budget.

Lew Faust, director of business services, presented the first option with the LOB at 25% and the capital outlay at 6 and the second option with the LOB at 26% and the capital outlay at 6.

After some discussion between members, the board decided to focus a little more towards the second option.  With this, the proposed mill levy will drop about 1.3.

This issue will be brought back before the board at their next meeting on August 1 beginning at 5:45 pm.

Other items from their July 18 meeting included the Manhattan High School West Parking Lot Design along with their weight equipment, a change order for the Marlatt VCT replacement, a bid for the Northview Field Grading and the district professional development plan.  All of these items passed with a 6-0 vote.
