Named to several preseason award watch lists, K-State senior linebacker Arthur Brown received his first preseason all-America honor on Monday.  CBS Sports.com put Brown on its second team.  He was the first Wildcat in five years with triple digit tackles with 101 a year ago including nine and a half stops for loss, and also had a key interception against Baylor.  Brown was named the Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year.  He also was named preseason all-Big 12, and to the watch lists for the Chuck Bednarik, Lombardi, Butkis, Bronko Nagurski, and Walter Camp awards.

CBS Sports.com named a pair of Big 12 players first team preseason all-Americans, Texas defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat, and West Virginia’s Tavon Austin at all-purpose.  Joining Brown on the second team is Oklahoma State running back Joseph Randle and kicker Quinn Sharp, and the Oklahoma trio of wide receiver Kenny Stills, offensive guard Gabe Ikard, and safety Tony Jefferson.
