Joining the likes of J.J. Smith, Darren Sproles and Daniel Thomas; John Hubert is the latest K-Stater to be up for the Doak Walker Award, which goes to the nation’s top running back. Hubert was a surprise starter in the backfield alongside Collin Klein in 2011, with Bryce Brown in the mix. While Brown floundered, Hubert blossomed, carrying the ball 200 times for 970 yards and three touchdowns. He enters his junior year two yards short of becoming the 25th Wildcat in school history to top 1,000 yards.
K-State opens the season on Saturday, September 1st when they host Missouri State.
