Another Chapter closes in the Riley County capital murder case of Luis Aguirre.
On Tuesday afternoon Judge Meryl Wilson sentenced Aguirre to Life in Prison withouth the possibility of parole as mandated by the verdict put forward by the jury a few weeks ago.
Aguirre murdered his 18-year-old exgirlfriend Tanya Maldonado and their 13-month-old son Juan in October of 2009 and buried them in a shallow grave nearby his residence in Ogden.
Riley County Attorney Barry Wilkerson says he is relieved it is over, and believes justice has been served for the victims and the community has been protected by the verdict.
Wilkerson says his office concentrated on the guilty verdict portion of the trial, and he is pleased with the outcome.
