K-State officials on Friday announced they hired a new chief of police and director of public safety for the university.
Kacey Wiltz will begin serving in the role on Sept. 14. She has more than 20 years of law enforcement experience, and currently serves as police chief at Kansas City Community College.
Wiltz also has experience serving as a crisis response team negotiator, field training officer and training coordinator. She holds a doctorate in criminal justice leadership and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in criminal justice.
