TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) The Kansas Motor Carriers Association has given child safety seats to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The Topeka Capital-Journal reported that the donation of 105 child safety seats was made Tuesday as part of Child Passenger Safety Week. The seats will be given to people in need throughout the state.
Patrol superintendent Col. Ernest Garcia says he has had “a deeper appreciation” for child safety seats since his grandson was born about 18 months ago. He says many troopers have worked accident scenes involving young children.
