Update: As of 8:30 Tuesday night, service has been restored to all customers affected by the outage. Cox sincerely apologizes for the outage, and assures KMAN that their engineers are monitoring the network to make sure that they do not have any intermittent service issues. Cox is still working to pinpoint the exact cause of the outage, and while exact numbers are not known, it is believed that the problem came from outside of Kansas.
Cox Communications is experiencing problems with its business voice manager service not only in Manhattan, but as far away as New England. Coleen Jennison, Director of Government Affairs for Cox, indicates the outage is not just confined to the region, but reaches across the country. Jennison says crews are working “dilligently” to restore service. She had no information on the number of customers impacted, but indicates more details will be provided later.
