A Manhattan man was taken to the hospital following a one vehicle accident on McDowell Creek Road Wednesday evening.

According to Riley County Police,  Kenneth Upton, 35, was taken by ambulance to the Geary Community Hospital, with a possible head injury.

Upton was driving a 1990 gray Dodge Ram southbound in the 4800  block of McDowell Creek Road when the vehicle left the roadway on the west side and hit a fence and tree.

Alcohol and speed are listed as possible factors, with the Kansas Highway Patrol investigating the alcohol aspect.

A condition report on Upton was not available.
