Reigning Big 12 offensive player of the week Kaitlynn Pelger pounded out 16 kills as K-State broke a eight match losing streak to Iowa State on Wednesday night at Ahearn Fieldhouse.  The Cats earned their first win over the Cyclones since 2007, doing so in straight sets, 25-15, 27-25 and 25-17.  Caitlyn Donahue led a K-State offense that hit with a .417 efficiency with 38 assists and 10 digs.  Lilla Porubek had 10 kills, and Alex Muff added eight kills for the Cats.  Pelger and Tristan McCarty each had nine digs on a solid night for K-State’s (16-1, 3-1 Big 12) back row.  Iowa State (8-6, 2-2) was led by ten kills from Victoria Hurtt.

#14 K-State will continue their week by hosting the Big 12 favorite, #9 Texas on Saturday night at  Ahearn Fieldhouse at 7:00pm.  The Standard Plumbing, Heating & Air pregame show begins at 6:30 on SportsRadio 1350 KMAN.  Also on Thursday night, listen at 6:30pm for Inside K-State Volleyball with Coach Suzie Fritz on KMAN.  You can hear also hear from Donahue on the 30-minute program.
