A Manhattan man was transported to Mercy Regional Health Center with unknown injuries following an accident late Friday night.  According to the Kansas Highway Patrol 62-year old Jesse Wilhoite Jr. of Manhattan was traveling westbound in the 5500 block of Mc Dowell Creek road approximately a mile and a half north of I-70 when he swerved to avoid two deer in the roadway.  Wilhoite’s 2006 Hyundai Elantra left the roadway and went into a ditch and jumped a field entrance before returning to the highway.

Wilhoite was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.  There is no further information on his condition.
