    Chambers leads K-State to season opening win

    Brittany Chambers scored 16 of her 22 points in the second half as the K-State won in their season debut 62-54 over Idaho State on Friday night at Bramlage Coliseum.  Chambers hit five of eight three point shot attempts, and also had a double-double with 1o rebounds.  Haley Texada saw her first action of the season following a two-game suspension for a violation of team rules, and netted 11 points.  Sophomore guard Ashia Woods set a career high with 13 boards to go with six points.  Idaho State (0-1) was led by

    The Bengals played the Wildcats tough in the first half, as K-State (1-0) led just 29-26 at the break.  But, the Cats scored the first 10 points of the second frame, and Idaho State would not get closer than seven points the rest of the way.

    The K-State women will play their next contest on Sunday against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 2:00pm at Bramlage Coliseum.  Pregame from the K-State Sports Network begins at 1:30 on SportsRadio 1350 KMAN.
