    First HS basketball rankings released

    The high school basketball season will begin later this week, and a number of area girls and boys teams dot the the first Kansas Basketball Coaches’ Association top 10.  The Manhattan High girls are ranked #10 in 6A after coach Scott Mall’s first trip to the state tournament and a Centennial League title last season.  The defending NCKL champion Wamego are #2 in the 4A girls’ rankings, as they return top scorers Kaylee and Lanie Page.  Plus, the Riley County girls begin the year at #7 in 3A.  On the boys side, Frankfort won the 1A Division II state title last season, and begin this season at #2.  Rock Creek came in fourth in 3A last winter, and are #10 in the preseason poll.

    The first basketball edition of Scoreboard Saturday will be at 9:00am on Saturday, December 6th on SportsRadio 1350 KMAN.
