Coaches will call it a measuring-stick game, and K-State should know much more about itself after on Friday afternoon’s showdown with #4 Michigan. The Cats and Wolverines will play for the preseason NIT championship at Madison Square Garden in New York City. With a win over Michigan, K-State will likely enter the top 25, and know they’re capable of beating anybody in the country. But even with a loss, the Cats will learn where they were exposed by Michigan, so they can improve.
K-State reached the preseason NIT finals with a 66-63 victory over Delaware on Wednesday, while Michigan rallied to beat Pittsburgh 67-62. The Wolverines are led by preseason all-American guard Trey Burke, along with the sons of former NBA stars, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Glen Robinson III.
K-State and Michigan tip off at 4:00pm on Friday afternoon in New York City. Pregame begins at 3:00 from the K-State Sports Network with Wyatt Thompson and Stan Weber.
