The Riley County clerk’s office is reporting the first filing for Manhattan City commission.
John Ball of Harahey Ridge is trying for a position on the commission. KMAN news hopes to speak with Ball a bit later.There are three positions opening up for that governing body. with the terms of Rich Jankovich, Loren Pepperd, and Jim Sherow expiring.
The filing deadline is January 22nd at noon. The primary election if needed would be held February 26th, with the general election set for April second.
It’s also time for other area city and school elections.
