    K-State Women to Battle Gauchos

With the Sunflower Showdown right around the corner, the K-State women’s basketball team will get one more tuneup for Big 12 conference play at UC-Santa Barbara.  The Cats will see a familiar face on the Gauchos’ sideline in head coach Carlene Mitchell, who started at point guard for K-State as a senior in the 1995-96 season.  KU looms on Wednesday, so Wildcat associate head coach Kamie Ethridge says the Cats must play well at UCSB.  Ethridge says coming off Christmas break, she hopes K-State is still in shape and the players come to Santa Barbara ready to go.

The K-State women will tip off at UC-Santa Barbara at 4:00pm on Saturday afternoon.  Pregame with Brian Smoller and Danielle Zanotti will start at 3:30 from the K-State Sports Network on SportsRadio 1350 KMAN.
