    A battery citation leads to a much larger arrest.

    Riley County Police told reporters on Monday that they were called to a residence this past Friday for a possible battery. Upon arrival, they cited Jacques Toliver (25) of 823 Colorado in Manhattan for battery, but a subsequent investigation revealed narcotics and a handgun.

    Toliver was taken into custody and charged with possession of marijuana , possession of paraphernalia , criminal carrying of weapons, defacing a firearm, and criminal use of weapons.

    Toliver remains confined on a $10,000 bond.

    A Manhattan man faces several charges after a routine traffic stop reveals several drug related items.

    Riley County Police told reporters on Monday that Jesse Bojorquez (27)  of Manhattan was stopped by on officer Thursday afternoon. The officer became suspicious when green, leafy vegetation was sighted. There was also a strong marijuana odor coming from the vehicle.

    The officer asked Bojorquez to to exit the vehicle, and when he did so, started to run. The officer gave chase, but Bojorquez gave up a short time later and was arrested.

    Bojorquez was charged with possession of opiates, possession of Methamphetamine precursors, and resisting arrest.

    A Manhattan man is a victim of aggravated burglary.

    Riley County Police told reporters on Monday that sometime between 11:00 p.m. on December 26th and 1:30 a.m. on December 27th, an unknown suspect entered the home of  James Geume (40)  located at 1300 Marlatt. The suspect brandished a weapon and removed from the home numerous electronics, with a total value of $1,950.

    The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
