K-State defensive ends coach Joe Bob Clements has left his alma mater to become defensive line coach at Oklahoma State.  Cowboys coach Mike Gundy released the news on his Twitter account on Sunday morning, tweeting at 9:25 am, “Excited to announce Joe Bob Clements as the new defensive line coach at Oklahoma State. Great addition to our staff. #GoPokes”

Clements spent 11 seasons as an assistant at K-State including the last four when Coach Bill Snyder returned to the sidelines. He began his coaching career at K-State as a student assistant in 1999 and 2000, followed by two years as a grad assistant working with the secondary from 2001-02.  Clements then coached Wildcat defensive ends from 2003-05.  He departed Manhattan after Snyder’s retirement for San Diego State, where he was the defensive line coach in 2006 and 2007.  He was the defensive line coach at Kansas in 2008.  The Emporia native earned four letters at K-State, after starting his career as a walkon and earning his scholarship in 1996.

Clements and his wife, Pelusa, have four children, Orianna, Chance, Emma and Kaden.
