Riley County Police are investigating a string of vehicle burglaries that took place sometime before Friday morning in three different locations in Manhattan

On Friday morning around 7:13, police responded to calls at the 2900th block of Northwing Drive. Five different victims reported that their cars had been entered and miscellaneous items had been removed, with one victim reporting that her front passenger window had been damaged. Total loss from these burglaries totaled $727

On the same morning, around 8:30, two victims, located at the 2600 block of Butterfield reported that their vehicles had been rummaged through, with one having their divers side window damaged. Total loss from these incidents is $2.

Later that morning at 10:30, four victims located at the 3000 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd reported that their vehicles had also been entered and various items removed. One vehicle had a front passenger window damaged, and the total loss in these cases amounted to $390.

Riley County Police told reporters on Monday that Jason Boswell,28 was taken into custody Friday in Salina and transported to Manhattan on a charge of probation violation.

Bosewell’s bond was set at $5,000

A local man is without his car after an incident of theft this weekend.

Riley County Police told reporters on Monday that Lawrence Prawl, of the 3300 block of Mineral Springs Spur in Manhattan reported to them that his 2002 Cadillac Deville was taken from his driveway sometime between 9:00 and 9:50 Friday night.

The car is valued at $3,650 and police are investigating.

Riley county police are investigating an incident of theft from a local contractor.

Police told reporters on Monday that a metal scaffold valued at $1,200 was taken from Weisbender Contracting Inc. located at 1812 Fairlane in Manhattan sometime between Thursday night at 6:00 and Friday morning at 3:00.

Police are investigating.

Riley County Police responded to a report of aggravated burglary that took place between 2:30 and 5:00 Sunday morning.

An unknown suspect entered the residence of Eric Zeak, Randall Pushee,Conner Odea, and Jeffery Maddox located on Kearney Street while the residents were home and took two laptop computers.

Total loss in this case is $1,430 and police are investigating.

Riley County Police told reporters on Monday that they responded to a report of burglary that took place early Sunday morning.

Sometime between Saturday afternoon at 12:30 and Sunday morning at 4:30, an unknown suspect entered the home of Michael Russell, 23  located at the 800 block of Vattier in Manhattan, and removed several items. Taken was sporting equipment, game controllers, a MP3 player, sunglasses, and a flat panel television.

No force was used to enter the dwelling, and the total loss is estimated to be $1,722.

Police are investigating.
