By KMAN Staff on February 23, 2013 Local News, Top Story

Just days after a snowstorm dumped more than nine inches of snow in some parts of the Manhattan area, another storm is on the horizon which could add to that total.
    NOAA Forecast Model
The National Weather Service office in Topeka has issued a Winter Storm Warning for all of Northeast Kansas from Midnight Sunday through Noon Tuesday.

A mixture of rain, freezing rain and snow is expected to develop early Monday Morning. A gradual transition to snow would occur late Sunday Night into Monday Morning. Expect Moderate to Heavy Snow to persist Monday Night through early Tuesday before diminishing Tuesday Night. As of now the potential for 6 to 10 inches of snow exists north of Interstate 70 while the potential for 9 to 13 inches of snow exists for areas along and south of the Interstate. Some areas could see a light accumulation of ice due to Freezing Rain Sunday Night. Northeast winds of 20 to 30 MPH with gusts up to 35 MPH will be common on Monday and Monday Night.
