KMAN has learned from multiple sources that former K-State Wide Receiver Andre Coleman is close to being hired by Head Coach Bill Snyder as the next Wide Receivers Coach for the Wildcats.
Coleman has spent the last four seasons at Youngstown State working the last two as Wide Receivers Coach under Head Coach Eric Wolford also a former Wildcat. Coleman has also served as Tight Ends Coach and has worked with kickoff and punt returners according to YSU’s official website.
Coleman starred at K-State from 1991-93 and was part of the Wildcats first-ever bowl win against Wyoming in the 1993 Copper Bowl . Coleman was then drafted by the San Diego Chargers in 1994 and as a rookie ran a kickoff back for a touchdown during the Chargers loss to San Francisco in Super Bowl XXIX. Coleman also played in the NFL for Seattle and Pittsburgh.
Coleman would succeed Michael Smith at the Wide Receivers Coach position. Smith left last month to take a similar job at the University of Arkansas. Stay with Sportsradio 1350 KMAN for further details on this developing story. The Penguins went 7-4 in 2012.
