K-State Women Earn WNIT Automatic Berth

The NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament Selection Committee took care of the Big 12, as seven teams will be in the field of 64.  That includes 7th place Kansas, who snuck in as a #12 seed.  The Women’s NIT grants an automatic bid to the first team not selected to the NCAA’s in each major conference.  K-State finished eighth in the Big 12, and will open the WNIT on Thursday against Texas Southern.  The game between the Cats (15-17) and Lady Tigers (20-11) will be played at Bramlage Coliseum at 7:00pm.  SportsRadio 1350 KMAN will carry the game starting with the pregame at 6:30 on the K-State Sports Network, and will also bring you K-State’s entire run through the WNIT.  Should the Cats beat Texas Southern, they would play either Illinois State or IUPUI at a site to be determined on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.
