K-State women’s basketball coach Deb Patterson on Wednesday afternoon the fifth member of her 2013 recruiting class, Nashville, TN point guard Jailen Murphy. The 5-foot-9 player averaged 15 points per game for Brentwood Academy last season, and also averaged five rebounds, three steals, and two blocked shots a night. Murphy joins four players who inked their national letter-of-intent with K-State in November including fellow point guard Kindred Wesemann. The Pleasant Hill, MO native is 5-foot-6-inches tall. The last three players in the class stand at least 6-foot-3, Erica Young of Tampa, FL, Jessica Sheble of Olathe (North), and Breanna Lewis of Milwaukee, WI, who is 6-foot-5.
