Capping off a stellar career, K-State senior guard Rodney McGruder has been named an Associated Press honorable mention all-American. McGruder is K-State’s first all-American since Jacob Pullen received a number of a third team honors following the 2010-11 season. He’s the fifth player at K-State to earn some sort of all-America mention since 2008.
McGruder led K-State to a Big 12 championship in his final season with a 14-4 record, and a 27-8 mark overall. He topped the team in eight different categories, including scoring at 15.6 points per game, and rebounding at 5.4 boards a night. McGruder exhausts his eligibility as the Wildcats’ 7th all-time leading scorer at 1, 576 career points.
