For the Riley County Police Department, the use of Twitter has become a way of connecting to the public and now they are offering an opportunity to have someone else do their tweeting.
The RCPD is encouraging twitter users who would like to spend a day doing a tweet along for the department to get in their tweets by tell the department why they should be picked, while mentioning @RileyCountyPD in the tweet, with the department’s hashtag, which is #POH.
On April 26th, the person chosen will be following Public Information Officer Matthew Droge, otherwise known as TwitterCop, on an afternoon and evening patrol shift.
The deadline to submit tweets of interest is Friday, April 12 at noon.
