Fred White, the long-time play-by-play voice of the Kansas City Royals who was with the organization for 40 years has died.
Before joining the Royals White served as the play-by-play voice of Kansas State Football and Basketball from 1967-73 and then went on to broadcast Royals games for 25 years from 1973-98 before becoming the Director of Broadcast Services and Royals Alumni until this week when he announced his retirement.
White also worked for many other networks over the years and in more recent years broadcast Big 12 Basketball games on television.
