As previously announced Hibachi Hut is leaving Aggieville but the popular restaurant is staying in Manhattan. That was the announcement Tuesday afternoon by part owner Kale Becker. Becker says Hibachi Hut’s doors were closed Sunday night, with the lease bought out by an owner who will be moving the restaurant to a building downtown. Brenda and Ward Morgan have purchased the name, recipes, and a lot of the decor of Hibachi Hut for the new location.

Becker admits it got a little tough for business to come in to Aggieville, and that the decision to leave Aggieville was a joint one by he and the other owners, his parents, Bill and Sandy Becker. Plus it helped to have an interested party in the lease, which has been identified as Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. Becker says “Fuzzy’s Taco Shop” is a popular Mexican restaurant in college towns such as Lawrence, Kansas and Fort Collins, Colorado.
