Just after 11:30 p.m. Friday night, members of the Junction City Patrol Division along with EMS responded to the intersection of 14th and Jackson Streets, in reference to a subject having been shot. Upon arrival, the victim, identified as 20-year old Christopher Brehmer, was located in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, having received a single gun shot to his back.
Mr. Brehmer was transported to the Geary Community Hospital and later flown by Life Star to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, in serious condition.
It was learned that several subjects had exited the vehicle after the shooting and fled the area on foot. The Junction City Police Department advises that this was an isolated incident and not a car jacking, and that the incident is still under investigation.
