The Junction City Fire Department has been awarded with a FEMA 2012 Assistance to Firefighters Grant.
With the grant, the department will be able to replace their existing 1989 75 ‘ aerial truck with a newer one.
The goal of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant is to meet the firefighting and emergency response needs of fire departments and non affiliated emergency medical service organization.
The award of the grant is $760,000 with a minimum match from the city of $84,444.
