K-State will host Mississippi on December 5th this season as part of the Big 12/SEC challenge. This will be the first challenge for the Big 12 since a four-year series with the Pac-10 from 2007-10.
The Rebels went 27-9 last year while winning the SEC tournament and advancing to the third round of the NCAA tournament. They return leading scorer Marshall Henderson, one of the most polarizing figures in college basketball, who averaged 20.1 points per game last season.
“I’m excited about this new partnership between the Big 12 and SEC,” said head coach Bruce Weber in a statement. “Scheduling is one of the more difficult parts of my job and to get a home game against an outstanding opponent as Ole Miss, is a real coup for our program. They had a tremendous year in 2012-13 and return one of the best scorers in college basketball in Marshall Henderson, so this will be another great test for our team.”
K-State also announced yesterday that they will make a trip to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn to play Tulane on December 28th.
