The Big 12 Champion Kansas State Wildcats Baseball team was selected Sunday evening to host one of 16 Regionals in the upcoming NCAA Baseball Tournament. The other three teams along with game times will be announced on Monday at 11 a.m. when the selection show is held.

Kansas State announced on Sunday evening that season ticket holders and Ahearn Fund Members will get the first crack at tickets to the Regional with tickets going on sale Wednesday morning at 8:30. The Regional will begin on Friday at Tointon Family Stadium with two games each day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If a second championship game is necessary it will be on Monday, June 3.

K-State is in the midst of one of the finest Baseball seasons in school history. The Wildcats who had never qualified for the NCAA Tournament before 2009 are now making their fourth tournament appearance in the last five years. The Bat Cats won the Big 12 regular season title with a record of 41-17 and went 16-8 in conference play. K-State defeated Texas Tech and Baylor in their first two games at the Big 12 Tournament in Oklahoma City before falling to Oklahoma 7-6 in an 11-inning thriller on Saturday. The Sooners won their first Big 12 Tournament since 1997 on Sunday with a 7-2 victory over Kansas.
