Jared King was named a second team All-American by Perfect Game USA, the first All-American honors of his career, to become the second Wildcat named to an All-American team in 2013. He joins Ross Kivett who picked up the honors from Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball.
King hit .335 this season with seven home runs and a team-leading 53 RBI’s and was one of seven K-State players named to the All-Big 12 first team. Last week King was drafted in the fifth round of the MLB draft by the New York Mets.
King helped lead the Wildcats to the first super regional appearance in school history and a school record 45 wins in 2013. The Wildcats also won the first conference championship at K-State since 1933.
