Head Coach Bill Snyder didn’t have to go far to find his next fullback. Manhattan High’s Winston Dimel committed to K-State on Friday, and will likely move from tight end to fullback with the Wildcats.

“I talked to Coach Snyder today,” Dimel said. “He said I would play kind of like (current K-State fullback) Glenn Gronkowski does. A fullback and an H-back.”
Being the son of K-State co-offensive coordinator Dana Dimel, Winston is no stranger to the K-State program. His position coach at K-State would be his father who also serves as the running backs coach for the Wildcats.
“I know my dad’s pretty excited. I already know a lot of the other coaches and some of the players too,” Dimel said.
Dimel, a three-star prospect according to rivals.com, picked the Wildcats over interest from Oklahoma and Arkansas. The Sooners and Razorbacks weren’t sure if they needed a fullback in their 2014 recruiting class, but Bill Snyder was. Dimel now has his decision made before the start of his senior season with Manhattan High.
“Oh it feels awesome,” Dimel said. “To grow up here and be able to play here is a great feeling.”
