K-State Tops All-Big 12 Preseason Team

0
By KMAN Staff on July 17, 2013 K-State Sports, Sports

K-State leads the way with five selections on the preseason all-Big 12 team picked by the league’s media.  The Wildcat trio of offensive lineman Cornelius Lucas, running back John Hubert, and safety Ty Zimmerman all make the team after being selected first all-Big 12 last season.

K-State nabs both returner spots on the preseason all-Big 12 squad with Tyler Lockett on kickoffs and Tramaine Thompson on punts.  Lockett was also the preseason all-league kickoff returner in 2012.

K-State junior center BJ Finney has already been nominated for the Lombardi, Outland, and Rimington trophies, and was named a first team preseason all-American by Phil Steele.  He not named preseason all-league by the league media, Gabe Ikard of Oklahoma was the pick instead.

Baylor running back Lache Seastrunk was named the Big 12 preseason offensive player of the year, and TCU defensive end Devonte Fields grabbed the defensive honor.  Houston transfer running back Charles Sims of West Virginia is the Big 12 newcomer of the year.
