    Tribe Shuts down Royals 3-0

It’s official, the Kansas City Royals will be below .500 before the All-Star break as the bats couldn’t come alive against the Cleveland Indians in a 3-0 loss.

Bruce Chen was making his first start of the season after he replaced Luis Mendoza in the starting rotation. Chen pitched six solid innings only one hit, but a rare backfire by the bullpen does the Royals in. Tim Collins and Aaron Crow allowed five straight hits to start the seventh inning and the Indians led 3-0. The Royals (43-47) bats couldn’t put anything on the board in the final two frames.

Kansas City and Cleveland will hook up again later today (Saturday) in game two of the series, first pitch from Progressive Field is at 6:05 pm and the game can be heard on Sports Radio 1350 KMAN.
