Battery reported in South Central Manhattan

    0
By KMAN Staff on August 19, 2013 Local News, Manhattan, Riley County

In the early morning hours of August 18, 2013, the Riley County Police
Department responded to a battery in the South Central portion of Manhattan, Kansas. A female victim
jogging alone was stopped by an unknown male subject. This male, with unknown intentions, battered
the victim who was ultimately able to escape with minor injury.

RCPD is confident that this incident is not related to the sexual assault that was reported to have
happened last week in Manhattan, but urges members of the community to continue to take steps that
will help protect themselves from becoming a victim.

If you have information about this or any other crime contact the Riley County Police Department (785-
537-2112) or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers (785-539-7777). For more information on
Crime Stoppers visit them on the web at www.ManhattanRileyCountyCrimeStoppers.com.
