Shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, 23-year old Roberto Pedro Carlos Mendiola of Junction City was arrested on charges of Aggravated Battery in reference to this case. He is being held without bond pending first appearance.
Shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, members of the Junction City Police Department and EMS were dispatched to the area of 1030 Cedar Dr. in Junction City in reference to a subject that had been stabbed during an altercation. Upon arrival contact was made with the victim who was transported to the Geary Community Hospital with a non-life threatening injury to his abdomen according to Detective/Sargent Trish Giordano of the Junction City Police Department. The identity of the victim has not been released by authorities.
