The City of Manhattan announced Tuesday that Allegiant Air will be providing nonstop jet service between Manhattan and Phoenix-Mesa, Arizona. Allegiant will operate twice weekly flights between Manhattan Regional Airport and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport beginning Thursday, November 7th.
“We’ve been talking to the airport, the board, and Peter here for about 6 years, so this is a long time in the making,” said Thane Klingler, Manager of Airports for Allegiant Air
Allegiant Travel Company is a Las Vegas-based company focused on linking travelers in small cities to leisure destinations. The company operates a low-cost, all-jet passenger airline through its subsidiary, Allegiant Air. “In the air service development world, landing Allegiant service to a community our size is considered a coup. To be able to have a low-cost carrier come into our region and provide the fare structure that its going to provide to a destination that is one of our top 5 destinations, is just outstanding for us. John Matta, Mayor of Manhattan said, “I think it’ll be great for us here, when you consider K-State and the Faculty/Staff and what they need to do, Fort Riley, plus just our increase in business, as well as it’s a great leisure destination.”
Allegiant will be offering a 99$ roundtrip promotional for two days only and must be purchased by August 22.
