    Royals Finish Road Trip 8-1

The Kansas City Royals were able to bounce back after losing game one Friday night to the Mets by winning the final two games of the series. Yesterday, Ervin Santana was solid and the bats did enough in a 6-2 victory to close out the road trip winning eight of nine.

Ervin Santana scattered five hits and allowed one run in six innings and the bats did more than enough to help the surging Royals get the victory. The Royals won for the 11th time in 12 games, helped by a pair of flyballs that right fielder Marlon Byrd lost in the glare. Both came during a three-run fifth, with one falling for a double and the other glancing off his glove for an error.

The Royals (56-52) return home to begin a 10-game home stand starting with the Minnesota Twins. Jeremy Guthrie scheduled to start for Kansas City, first pitch from Kauffman Stadium is set for 7:10 pm.
