A man convicted of rape in Geary County more than 30 years ago has been released by the Kansas Department of Corrections. Ricky Perkins, 57, was sentenced in March of 1980 in connection with an August 1979 rape in Geary county.
Perkins was paroled in June of 1992, but then was involved in a 1993 burglary in Harvey County and had been serving time on that since early 1994.
Perkins was released last Thursday and is currently located in Sedgwick County, with his supervision level listed as high.
