Rodney McGruder has signed a contract with the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder, according to the Thunder’s official website. Terms of the deal have not been officially released.
McGruder played in the NBA summer league with the Orlando Magic, but was not offered a deal by the team after the summer. He was named first team all-big 12 during his senior season at K-State after averaging 15.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.26 steals per game.
The Thunder also announced the signing of former Iowa State guard Diante Garrett along with McGruder.
There are currently 17 players on the Thunder roster that will compete during training camp. NBA teams can keep up to 13 players on their active roster during the regular season, but they can also keep players under their control in the NBA development league.
